The election campaign period is not only a time for political agitation. In the media space, one can come across information that questions the integrity of democratic procedures. The aim of such messages, sometimes originating from abroad, is to weaken Polish citizens’ trust in the state.

A good example are social media posts conveying messages that undermine the fairness or outcome of the elections. They are based on anecdotal stories, fear, ignorance, or are a form of deliberate disinformation. Regardless of the intent, the effect is the same: the person on the other side of the screen is confused and misled.

In recent weeks, Demagog.pl, member of CEDMO have encountered recurring narratives on social media that questioned the election results. In this article, they present the most harmful ones.
