Nieuwscheckers and the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision collaborate within the BENEDMO consortium to combat disinformation. In addition, both organizations are involved in the research project Factcheck Connect, which is made possible by a grant from the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). As part of this project, the Nieuwscheckers team (the fact-checking platform of Leiden University) is conducting a series of so-called Factchecking Deep Dives. Spread over approximately nine months, the focus is on five socially urgent topics, including climate change, LGBTI+, and migration. During these intensive research periods, collaboration with civil society organizations is central, with the aim of aligning fact checks better with current realities and thereby increasing their impact.
